A Keurig Coffee Machine
I love coffee. I drink about 8 cups a day (or more). I drink it black. I drink it with cream. I drink it with sugar. Doesn't matter to me, I like the taste. Nothing beats a pot of fresh brewed coffee. Nothing!
I could never enjoy a pot of coffee. Why? Because I like regular coffee and my wife likes decaf coffee. She would make herself a pot of decaf coffee and proceed to drink it throughout the day and even the next couple of days. She could drink it cold, she didn't care. To me that's gross, but to each their own. It didn't bother her. Me, I HAVE to have fresh coffee. If it's cold or lukewarm, I can't drink it.
She was always hogging up the coffee pot. There was always some form of decaf in the pot. Which also meant, I could never brew myself a pot of regular, so I just drank instant coffee instead. Instant is not bad, but it doesn't even compare to the real thing.
I thought I was destined to drink instant for the rest of my life, until we happened to go on vacation.
Last year, we went on a short trip to Wine Country, Napa Valley, California.
We stayed at this cute little winery and the coffee pot that they had in the house changed my life.
They had a Keurig One Cup Coffee Maker. I had never seen one like it before. I was instantly intrigued. I had heard about these machines, but never paid much attention to them. What's the big deal, I thought. It brews one cup, so what? I was skeptical because I never saw one in action.
After all, I've used those cheap, plastic one-cup coffee makers in hotels before and wasn't pleased or impressed. Plus, the coffee was always crappy, generic and boring. Who wants it? Trust me, what I found out surprised me. Keurig Machines are not the same.
The first morning I awoke in Napa Valley, I put Keurig to the test. It was time for my morning coffee. There was a bunch of different K-Cup coffees on the counter to choose from (I felt spoiled). I liked the idea of being able to choose whatever flavor I wanted, that was cool. I picked Diedrich's Sumatra Medium Roast Coffee.
There were no instructions on the machine. Nothing to tell me what to do. But, figuring it out was simple and painless. All I did was lift the lid. Drop the K-Cup into the slot. Shut the lid and press the button.
What surprised me was how fast it brewed a cup of coffee. Way faster than the coffee makers in the hotels. I later found out it's because it stores heated water in the machine for instant brewing. Well, that morning it brewed my coffee in less than twenty seconds. I was floored.
The machine that they had was one of the older models that only had one cup size and one button. You couldn't get any simpler.
I can't tell you how much coffee I drank that week. I couldn't drink enough. The coffee tasted superb. It was the best coffee I had ever tasted.
What I liked about it was that you could drink a fresh cup of coffee whenever you wanted one. No messing around with filters, measuring cups, beans, grinds, or filling the pot with water (you only had to fill it up every 10 cups or so).
It really was amazing. I wanted to stow it in my luggage and bring it home with me. I took pictures of the machine and the coffee with my phone (which is why the pictures turned out dark and blurry) just so I could research it once I got home. Here are the pictures I took of their Keurig machine.
Once back, I had to have one. I did my research and looked at all the different machines that Keurig
had available. There are 8 different models:
• Keurig B30 Mini Personal Brewer
- compact size, great for vacation homes, cabins and dorms.
• Keurig B40 Elite Home Brewing System
- the most affordable home brewing system with 2 cup sizes.
• Keurig OfficePRO Brewing System
- great for small offices, conference rooms, comes with 18 K-Cups.
• Keurig B60 Special Edition Brewing System
- chrome accents, blue, back-lit LCD display and 3 brewing sizes.
• Keurig B77 Gourmet Coffee Brewing System
- the best single-cup brewing systems for your home.
• Keurig Platinum Brewing System
- premium model offers the widest range of 5 cup sizes for brewing.
• Keurig Breville Brewing System
- polished stainless steel, built-in water filtration, 5 brewing sizes.
• Keurig B155 Office Home Brewer
- full-color touch screen menu, Quiet Brew Technology, 4 brew sizes.
What great machines. Nice step up from the one in California. All the new added features are very cool. Like being able to choose from different brewing cup sizes (small, medium and large) and being able to make Iced Tea or Iced Coffee was amazing.
I craved that fresh coffee taste.
Within weeks I broke down and bought the Keurig Select Brewing System, which is model number B77.
The B77 is a Keurig Gourmet Coffee Brewing System. The reason I bought this version was because it came with a package deal that included a 72 K-Cup Variety pack and the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter
(see picture) which my wife loves and the fact that you could brew different sized cups. Done deal!

• Removable water reservoir - filling and adding water couldn't be any simpler. Our old machine had this little slot in the back of the machine for filling and adding water. Water was always running all over the machine and down the counter. Huge pain!
• LCD Control Center - Keurig
has a very cool digital LCD panel that lights up (great as a night-light). The control center is very easy to use. It has a digital clock. It allows you to select your favorite brewing size (so one button brewing is perfect). It even allows you to program an on and off time. I've never used it, I can't image turning the machine off... are you crazy? lol
The control center tells you when the water level is low, even though it doesn't really need to because the reservoir is on the side of the machine, see through and flashes blue when it's low.
The LCD panel even tells you when it's time for cleaning (special filter packs you buy - Keurig Water Filter Refills, 6-pack). But we've had our machine for over 6 months and have not had to clean it yet.
One touch brewing is ideal. You literally just have to set a cup on the tray. Put your K-Cup coffee in the machine and push the button. I'm telling you, there is no better or easier way to brew a fresh cup of coffee in the world. You can do it in your sleep!

What I love about the Keurig is the fact that I can quickly make myself a cup of regular coffee whenever I want, and my wife can instantly maker herself a cup of decaf. It's simple, easy and we no longer have wasted coffee. Don't tell, but sometimes I would dump out her decaf just so I could make a pot of regular coffee myself.
With the K-Cup brewing system, we drink every cup we make. There are no pots to clean, no stains in the glass. No coffee sitting around growing mold (you know what I'm talking about). No more soggy, gross filters, and best of all:
I hate it when the coffee filter folds and you get nothing but Coffee Grounds! Not good! (Embarrassing with company over!)
I use this machine daily and love it. I would never buy another regular coffee maker again. I rave about this machine to everyone. I've talked 4 of my friends into buying one. All they have to do is make one cup of coffee or hot fresh tea and they're hooked.
And the coffee choices are plenty. I have a bunch of favorites. Diedrich's Sumatra
Medium Roast is wonderful. Green Mountains Coffee Breakfast Blends
(both light and medium) are excellent. Their Nantucket Blend
is rich and delightful. Tully's Kona Blend
is delicious. At Christmas time, Green Mountain
came out with a Holiday Blend that was to die for. It was sooo good. I wish they would sell it year round. (Please Green Mountain, bring back the Holiday Blend!)
Also note that there are new Energy Drink Coffee's out called Revv and Revv Pulse. I tried them. They rock. More about them in the Coffee Section below!
Coffees like these put Starbucks to shame. I can drink Sumatra
and Green Mountain
all day long (and do). I never drank so much coffee in my life. I just love it.
Watch me make a cup of coffee (and also Hot Chocolate). It really is this simple:
And you know what I love just as much as coffee???

I could drink Hot Chocolate every single day (plus whipped cream, gotta have the whipped cream!) MMM Good!
I used to make instant chocolate that old fashioned way... what a pain! I would heat a cup of water in the microwave for 2 minutes and then add in a couple of scoops of instant cocoa. This was easy enough, but trying to stir up those lumps that never seemed to dissolve right was a mess. It took forever just to get it all stirred in. It turned making Hot Chocolate into a chore.
Not any more...
You can make Hot Cocoa in the Keurig Machine just as easily as you can coffee. They sell K-Cups of Hot Chocolate that are incredibly good. My favorite is Cafe Escapes Milk Chocolate
Hot Cocoa (Chocolat Au Lait). This is the best Cocoa you'll ever have. You will lick your lips! The other Hot Cocoa that I like is Tully's Bellaccino Hot Cocoa
. Excellent flavor. Excellent taste.
I tried Green Mountain Coffee's Hot Cocoa, but I didn't like that as much. It tasted weird to me.
Another variety of Cocoa that I love is the Cocoa/Coffee mix. Cafe Escapes has a drink called "Cafe Mocha". What a great blend. If you love coffee and love cocoa, you must buy this. You'll be a fan. It's rich, creamy and melts in your mouth. What more can I say? It's that good!

Let's not forget about Iced Tea!

Within seconds, your Iced Tea will be ready. Add more ice to the glass and enjoy. Easy as that!
Making Iced Coffee is just as easy as making Iced Tea. It's a no-brainer.
Any beverage you want is only seconds away.
Watch how easy it is to make a glass of Iced Tea:
That's the best thing about this machine;
Before, with our ancient 12 cup coffee maker, we would have to wait like 10 minutes for a cup of coffee. It was crazy. By the time the pot finally finished brewing you no longer wanted one.
Now, making a cup of coffee is instant. You want it now, you got it now. It's much faster than making Instant Coffee!
Plus, there's nothing to clean up. No mess! The grounds stay in the K-Cup. You lift it out of the machine and throw it away. It takes 2 seconds and you're done.

Adding Water is a piece of cake. It really is that easy. In fact, it's the easiest coffee maker in the world to add water to.
Don't believe me? This is what you have to do:
Remove the lid. Dump in water. Close the lid. It really couldn't get any easier. You can also fill it by holding the reservoir under the tap. Plus, you can put the entire plastic reservoir in the dishwasher for cleaning!
Do note that I use bottled water instead of tap because my tap water has iron in it and leaves a slight aftertaste to the coffee.
Watch me add water to the machine:
Buying Bottled Water
is no big deal since you can buy it in bulk and it tastes better to me than tap. A whole Case of Water generally lasts about 2 weeks and costs $4.00.
The K-Cup Coffees really are the best coffee you'll ever buy. I have never once regretted buying Keurig and neither will you.
I suggest you buy a variety pack to start and try out all the different flavors. There are so many of them. See what you like, see what you love, that's what I did. I want to try them all.
Next on my MUST have list is a Van Houtte's Cinnamon Stick Coffee. Just imagine, Fiery Red-Hot Cinnamon Flavored Coffee, that's both Sweet and Spicy. Yum! See, you probably want to try it too!

I would not rave about this machine or coffee so much if I didn't truly believe in it. I love it. I really do. Until you actually try the machine, see how easy it is to operate, clean and fill, and taste the coffee, you don't know what you're missing.
I order coffee about once a month and enjoy buying different brands and varieties. Wild Mountain Blueberry? No problem! Mandarin Orange Spiced Tea
? Yes! Plus, all the Organic Coffees
are wonderful. My advice: Try something new!
My wife buys Decaf K-Cups and alternates with her regular Folgers Decaf
Coffee. She's more frugal than I and likes to brew her own. Which brings me to another great feature:
Or the better topic:
Using the Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee Filter
and your own coffee is just as easy as using the pre-packaged K-Cups. You have to remove the black holder from the machine, it just snaps in and out, then you open the My K-Cup gray plastic holder, put a scoop of coffee into the Metal Filter and close it back up again (the lid twists on and off). Place this into the Keurig machine and push brew.
Easy as that!
Watch me make a cup of coffee using my own coffee:
The only thing you have to do is clean the My K-Cup Filter. It's not difficult, but it is one extra step.
You empty the grounds in the trash, then rinse the filter under water. No biggie! You have to do this every time you want to make a cup of coffee using your own coffee, but at least you don't have to buy paper filters anymore!
I'm lazy. I buy the K-Cups and love it. I Pop them in the machine and I'm done!
Our machine gets used all day long. Every hour we're making a cup of something fresh. I drink regular coffee up until around 5 p.m. then I switch over to decaf.
I have to, otherwise I'd be up all night long! :)
The coolest thing about this coffee maker is the speed and ease. It will blow your mind. When friends and family stop over, they love the Keurig. They pick out what flavor they want (we bought a Keurig 5060 K-Cup CarouselIt makes parties and get togethers fun. Everyone is happy.
"Aunt Gertrude only drinks Light Roast Coffee"
"Uncle Paul likes Extra Bold Italian Roast"
"Crystal likes Lemon Iced Tea"
You can even use it just for heating water, dunking in your own tea bags, or even add soup to the cup. It's effortless!
If you love coffee, fresh brewed coffee; hate the mess, the waiting, the clean up and the waste... Then don't put it off any longer.
This machine will make you fall in love with coffee once again. You'll never look at coffee or coffee makers the same way.
The Keurig B77 Gourmet Coffee Brewing System is the best single cup coffee maker there is on the market. I highly recommend it. I'm so happy I went to Napa Valley for vacation, I'm so happy that I got to try the Keurig Machine (otherwise I would have never bought one), and I'm very happy that I did buy one. It really is the one of the best decisions I could have ever made. It's the only machine I'll ever own!
Thanks Keurig! I'm a believer.
Here's a picture of my Kitchen Cupboard. I have quite a selection of great tasting Coffee's, Teas and Cocoa! :)

And speaking of Coffees. Let's look at them!
They are:
Plus, there are multiple sizes that you can buy of the K-Cup Coffees.
Now onto the flavors, and there are plenty to choose from. (Energy Drink Coffees are listed after the Flavors!)
